El colegio "El Rosario" es una institución educativa fundada en el año 1957 a raíz de la emergencia educativa que presentaba el municipio por falta de cupos en la educación oficial. La institución se rige por las normas emanadas por sistema Colombiano.
Con base en la necesidades presentadas en el sistema educativo municipal, el colegio surgió como una idea liderada en primera instancia por los personeros salientes y entrantes del municipio, señores: Noé Ignacio Cifuentes R. (Q.E.P.D.) y Luis Ernesto Torres Martínez, quienes tuvieron la idea de fundar un colegio municipal; teniendo en cuenta que habiendo recibido
